Dr. Jia Li :
"From metabolites to mechanisms: metabolomics in nutrition and gut microbiome research "
We are delighted to welcome Dr Jia Li as a keynote speaker at the 8th Munich Metabolomics Meeting 2026. Dr Li is an Associate Professor in Biological Chemistry and a co-lead of the Section of Nutrition in the Department of Metabolism, Digestion, and Reproduction at Imperial College London.
Her research explores the complex interactions between diet, the gut microbiome, and host metabolism. By combining NMR spectroscopy, mass spectrometry-based metabolomics, and multi-omics approaches, her work seeks to uncover the roles of metabolites in health and disease.

Workshop
mzmine is a comprehensive, open-source platform for processing multimodal mass spectrometry data within a single software environment. This hands-on workshop guides participants through a complete LC-MS² metabolomics and lipidomics pipeline, from raw data to scientific insights.
We will walk through the core tools of an untargeted analysis: spectral processing, feature detection, compound grouping, lipid and metabolite annotation, molecular networking, and integrated statistics. Along the way we will also touch on how the same platform extends to other modalities, including GC-MS and imaging data. The session concludes with mzmine's interactive compound and lipid dashboards, which bring annotation, spectral evidence, and quantitative data together in one view for rapid, confident interpretation of complex datasets.
This is a hands-on workshop, and participants are invited to bring their own laptop to follow along. Attendees will leave with a practical, end-to-end workflow they can apply to their own studies.
